There’s no better feeling than bringing your creative vision to life. I’ve always had a fascination with planets, solar systems and worlds far from ours and I think this interest naturally intercepted its way into my drone photography. After delving into the world of abstract aerial photography and being told by people who viewed my work ‘this looks like it was taken on another planet’, I knew I wanted to push my creativity and create an image to replicate another planet as closely as I could. In my imagination these planets would have empty landscapes, yet be full of unique colours. There was one salt lake located 13 hours north of where I was based in Western Australia that I knew would be perfect. 2 months after the idea was born and after purchasing a full body astronaut suit, I made the journey to try bring my vision to life. I walked out into the salt lake with the suit on and noticed ripples forming, which sparked the idea to stomp my feet while staying in place to have the perfect ripples around me. Everything you see in this shot is real and was captured in camera.
